Paleo Sweets & Treats Cookbook Review & Giveaway

I know I’m a little late to the game on this one, since Heather from Multiply Delicious‘ new cookbook Paleo Sweets & Treats came out two weeks ago. But I LOVE this book, you guys. I’m almost positive Heather actually wrote this book just for me. I think it’s because it’s full of naughty-looking-but-not-actually-naughty paleo sweets and treats only, which hello, I am clearly a fan of.

Multiply Delicious has been one of the sites I always go to ever since I started my paleo journey because 1. Heather’s recipes are all incredibly delicious and 2. Her photography skills literally make you want to reach your hand into the computer screen and grab whatever it is she made. Drooooool city! And her book is no different. Flipping through it makes me feel like I’m in the cutest little bake shop in town with all of the bright colors and crisp, clean photographs. They are just perfect.

Though I haven’t yet made anything (since my whole30 attempt), you can be sure I have just about every page bookmarked. You think you’ve found the best recipe, only until you flip to the next page. And you know what I REALLY love about this book? It’s organized by season. Summer, fall, winter, spring. That is probably the best idea ever. Especially right now. I have pretty much the entire autumn category on my to do list. And next will be the holidays. Oh my gosh you guys. It’s brilliant.

Here is a little sneak peek of some of her delicious fall recipes and amazing photography. If those whoopie pies don’t make you want to slap your grandma (I don’t know what that means) then I’m afraid we can’t be friends.

So if you are a paleo sweets and treats lover like me (and I’m guessing you are if you’re on the site), please do yourself a favor and get this book. It will blow your paleo mind. Also, there are s’mores in there. That should be reason enough for you to drop whatever you are doing and order it RIGHT NOW.

But wait, there’s more! Heather has so graciously offered to give one of YOU a free copy of Paleo Sweets & Treats! What!?!? A free copy of this paleo dessert bible?!? Oh yes. You heard me. All you have to do is leave a comment here saying why you love paleo-fied naughty treats to enter. Be creative. I might just pick the comment that makes me laugh the most. The winner will be picked one week from today!

Hallelujah! I can stop illegally munching on the illegal-supersize-bag of Halloween treats from Costco…they *were* for the Trick-or-Treaters. Now I can leave the junky stuff for them, and eat the good stuff for me!

I have a HUGE sweet tooth. All day long I crave sweets. I’ve lost 85 pounds on Paleo, and it’s sweet treat recipes like those pictured on this book that keep me going and allow me to comply (and I never cheat). I love to bake, so I can pursue my hobby at the same time as I am feeding the sweet monster. I would love to have more recipes so I can stay healthy, stay thing and stay satisfied!

Paleo-fied treats are not only usually more delicious than the “real thing” but are the best way to trick paleo-naysayers into loving something entirely paleo! Stops them from being d*cks about it after that :)

I love paleo sweets because I’ve been able to lose 60 lbs by going by these guidelines.
And through all of my weight loss I never felt like I needed to beat someone over the head with a club because I was hangry and had a dessert craving.

I <3 paleo-fied treats because they can be so much better than the real thing, and don't make me feel like SHIAT afterwards :)

Just made paleo apple pie last night and it was freaking awesome. Didn't taste any different from the real thing, and it was not as terrible for me. BOOM.

I looooove Paleo sweets because they seem so darn hard to master, but once something comes out flawlessly, all I can do is thank the gods of baking that my 20 year old stove + the Wisconsin weather + the mood my coconut flour is in that day finally have created a Paleo baked good!! (Because let’s be honest, sometimes Paleo baking can be a challenge!) That’s why I love that more and more people (like Heather!) are coming out with Paleo cookbooks; I have more “hallelujah” moments than “Wow, reallllly????” moments. ;)

I love sweets. There were days in my first couple of years of undergrad that I saw nothing wrong with eating my weight in Kit-Kat bars because I had to walk all the way across campus to my next class (My justifications and excuses were laughable, but no one has ever accused me of not being inventive :) ).

I thought that going Paleo-ish would help me keep my inner raging sugar demon at bay, and I did really well too, until I discovered how to make Paleo cookies on Day 29 of my 30 Day Sugar Detox. (Suffice to say, I didn’t make it the last 24 hours).

Now I love whipping up a Paleo treat after dinner… (or for breakfast, lunch, and dinner). Don’t look at me with those accusing eyes. This is a judgement-free “safe” zone, right? Haha.

I love Paleo treats because I can generally eat them without feeling crummy afterwards. And they absolutely satisfy any cravings for something sweet. Sometimes, I actually find myself preferring the Paleo treats to the “normal”! I loved Heather’s e-cookbook and SO excited for this one. Great giveaway, thanks!

I love Paleo treats, it gives me a reason to keep myself, and my two boys healthy! Plus giving my 4 year old something sweet usually makes him go crazy – so Paleo options are great for their low sugar but wonderful taste! And I enjoy sharing extra’s with my neighbour friends – I think they’re on to me, though, trying to tell them how awesome Paleo is!

  12. Liz Overton October 15, 2013 at 10:51 am Reply

I enjoy the occasional Paleo-friendly treat because they make the lifestyle livable for me. I don’t eat them all the time, only on special occasions, but I think we should be able to indulge during those moments without guilt. And as a foodie who loves to cook and bake, I think it’s a fun challenge to try to recreate the treats I’ve always enjoyed or check out others’ creations (like Heather’s!).

I love paleo-fied treats because I can feel like I am eating something naughty while still treating my insides with respect. Between you and I though, I would slap my grandma if I got my hands on this book…She’d slap me back, but I’m almost certain it would be worth it.

I have recently “turned” Paleo (but DID NOT drink the Cool-Aid, because thats not Paleo!). I FEEL AWESOME!!!! I am losing weight, getting rid of a stomach ulcer that has not wanted to leave my side since January and no longer feel like a foggy slug. HOWEVER: I WANT SWEETS!!! I am not a sweet person generally but I have been craving sweets and at times almost actually turned into a cave woman wanted some desserts! I have not baked any paleo desserts yet but most certainly need to start! This cook book looks SO YUMMY!!! It is so fun to see how many recipes you can paleo-fy that are STILL healthy!

  18. Danielle Aikens October 15, 2013 at 10:58 am Reply

I love paleo desserts because that’s what I naturally crave. I always want sweets! When my doctor told me I needed to follow a paleo diet, I was crushed, but the more research I did, I realized that I could still enjoy sweets every now and then. Now, I’m always searching for new recipes to try out and share with my friends and family!

The thing I love the most about eating paleo desserts is THE LOOK ON PEOPLE’S FACE WHEN I TELL THEM I’M EATING A NUTRITIOUS, HEALTHIER-THAN-YOURS DESSERT! HA!!! Would love to get ma hands on this book!!! <3

I looooooove paleo fied treats!! I love them for several reasons…one because I love baking and ended up baking and eating my way to being 60 pounds over weight. Paleo fied treats helped me lose those 60 pounds while still eating the treats I craved! They also help me feel like a bad ass, a little dangerous! I get extreme satisfaction baking paleo treats especially when they trick my macho marine husband who always says he will NEVER follow my crazy paleo diet, I laugh as he sits back and indulges in some of the paleo fied treats I make and he has no idea! He even tells the guys in his unit about the beat treats he’s had and he has no idea!!! Being pregnant, paleo treats and I heave become a happily married couple. I feel great knowing I’m feeding my baby good foods and she’ll grow up that way too!

  21. Christy October 15, 2013 at 11:05 am Reply

I love paleo desserts because they are usually less sweet…which I love. But I love love watching my friends scarf down some paleo treats I’ve made and then telling them it’s paleo! They never believe me.

I am a sweet addict. So is my 8 month old baby girl. I know I know its bad, but I always give her little tastes of the paleo sweets and treats I make. Its all good-for-you ingredients though, right!? I would love thus cookbook to expand my treats and sweets recipe bank. To make naughty looking food that is actually good for you is the best, especially when I want to lose the last bit of that extra flub from having a baby and I still crave the “crap” I ate when pregnant. Should have made myself eat paleo when pregnant. Shoulda coulda woulda though right.

Okay I could go on and on but I would love love love this cookbook! With your blog and her cookbook I would be in Paleo heaven. Now if only you someone would come cook all this deliciousness for me ;)

ooh! this book would be like an entire pinterest board in my hands! i could tell you about how important it is to respect my body and feed it good things…which is true…but really, my sweet tooth is like a raging monster that needs to be fed daily. and feeding it paleo desserts makes me feel a smidge better about myself.

I love paleo-fied naughty treats because of the fact that I have zero control when it comes to consuming sweats. Let’s be honest, when I make a dessert, I’m going to eat the entire thing. With paleo treats, I don’t have to reap the consequences of fatness and shame after overindulging. And this is why I need this cookbook….so I can eat very last crum of all of these delightful paleo treats! :)

My favorite thing about paleo-fied naughty treats because of my boyfriends dad’s response to them all. He is type 2 diabetic but doing a great job controlling his intake. However, he loves coconut and almond, so most everything gets named almond delights. Also the best is my paleo naughty treats( which I don’t use the word naughty with my bfs dad in case you were worried) Anyway, they are hidden in the freezer and pantry and dubbed “mal treats”, and always a fight to who gets them! Love it! Since starring paleo a year ago, my sister, sister in law, and my roommate have all gone paleo!! At Xmas we are having a paleo baking contest :) anyway I’ve rambled enough, I use multiply delicious and your blogs the most due to the simplicity yet unique and amazing twist that is put on your desserts!

Paleo sweet treats not only give you what your sweet tooth wants, but they are a fun way to experiment with healthy ingredients instead of running to the HFCS every time! I love the feeling I get after indulging in something that will provide me nutrients and make me happy at the same time. I’d love this book to start getting my bake on for the holidays!

I am the weekly dessert baker for the youth education program at church, and I keep derailing myself by doing a little too much quality assurance testing. Or tasting, I guess I should say. It just dawned on me that I should be trying out some new Paleo treat recipes on these kids. I’m sure the choir director would thank me, since she gets the kids right after they get all hopped up on sugar with me.

With this book I can continue my quest to fool everyone in my family that they are eating “real” food! I’ve made several paleo treats and meal items and majority of the time they are questioning whether I “made it paleo” or not! I never tell my secrets though – they will just have to eat and enjoy unless they love it so much they ask for the recipe! I call it converting my family to paleo one treat at a time!

I love making Paleo desserts because for years I wasn’t eating enough healthy fats, which Paleo desserts are rich in. I was depressed, my skin was bad, and I was rail-thin and lacked lean muscle. When I stopped eating grains and eating more healthy fats from chocolate, coconut, hemp, almond, etc. I looked so much healthier, gained more lean muscle mass and increased my energy levels. My mood also skyrocketed! Since, I’ve been making tons of healthy Paleo desserts with healthy, mood-boosting fats, and I’ve never been happier. I would love to get this cookbook to get some new recipe ideas- thank you Taylor!:)

I just love Paleo desserts, they are so yummy and so very allergy and intolerance friendly! But my favorite thing about Paleo treats is tricking my not so healthy parents, who think my ingredient list is weird and they refuse to try, but not when I trick them and they never even know the difference! MWhaha (that is supposed to be an evil laugh :/)

Paleo treats are the definition of a good life. After I found out I was lactose intolerant I thought I’d never be able to enjoy any delicious deserts again without feeling incredibly sick. Then, one day I stumbled upon your blog and pretty much sobbed over how beautiful all of the desert creations were. It was basically a godsend. Even without trying the things in this book, I’m convinced that it’s perfect. The cover is currently making me want to lick my computer screen because it looks like a gift from god for girls that could eat desert for every meal (me), and not having to feel sick after. Also, considering you’re like the paleo queen, I figure that you would never disappoint with your recommendations :) <3 Winning this book would an honor and the best gift ever.

Well, I’ve only been eating Paleo since August 1st. I turned a 30 day test into a 90 day and beyond lifestyle change. I’ve really enjoyed it so much but there is that one time of the month that I feel like I’m moments away from falling off the wagon. Therefore, I’d love to win this book so that I have a safety net for when I feel like I just can’t take it anymore. So far my only sweet treat has been fruit in limited quantity…but I am looking forward to something more in my future! (my sisters birthday was this weekend and my mom made her a brownie cake and covered it with icing and chocolate covered strawberries and it was all I could do to stay stong).

Why do I love the paleo life and paleo sweets, because it’s the best of both worlds! It’s really amazing to know that you can still create yummy tasty food and still live healthy and even lose weight! I’m a huge sucker for sweets, so I know this would definitely satisfy my cravings for something sweet without sabotaging my meal plans! Everyone deserves a cheap meal (or two!) but I like the fact that I could out this book to good use and make some sweets without the guilt trip!! THIS NEEDS TO BE IN MY KITCHEN!:)

Who doesn’t love a sweet dessert after a great meal. I love have one or two after my dinner. Plus my kiddos will eat anything that is called a snack or dessert lol. Even my husband will take the dive into a paleo-fied sweet thang.

Oh my Paleo Sweets and Treats! I LOVE to bake and I have found a renewed spirit to cook and bake purely Paleo. The transition has been relatively easy, however I’m struggling with making my kids join me! Maybe starting with some sweet treats from Multiply Delicious we can move toward a caveman family ;)

i loveeeee paleo cheesecake purely because i can eat it and not feel like i’m on my deathbed like what happened on easter of this past year. i didn’t move for three days. i’m sure you’ve been there. when i can make it clean, refined sugar-free and without grains, my stomach is a happy happy creature!

I mean come on… what is the one thing that many of us (especially women) can do no matter what our mood?! That’s right… EAT DELICIOUSLY AWESOME BAKED GOODS! Whether you are sad and desperately wanting to eat everything sweet in sight, or you want to celebrate an oh-so-amazing event, baked treats are where it’s at! My family, most of which are very critical of my Paleo lifestyle, tell me that I eat turtle food and cannot indulge in anything delicious. I LOVE to cook or bake something fabulous to prove them wrong, and even better I don’t even tell them it is Paleo until they are asking for the recipe. The look on their faces=PRICELESS! :-) Us Paleo-ers definitely know what’s good… and we feel better while eating it!

First of alllllllllllllll, MULTIPLY DELICIOUS is the first paleo blog I started reading and her paleo choc chip cookies were the FIRST paleofied treat I evaaaaaaaaaar made. It started me on my paleo journey and I freakin love Heather for that. Now I’m paleobsessed. I don’t need a reason to love paleofied treats besides the fact they make me horngry. -catwon

I love paleo sweets because I don’t feel like I’m cheating at all. I’m officially 3 months paleo, and I don’t think I’m ever going back to eating that nasty stuff I use to put in my body.

  97. Jodie Davis October 16, 2013 at 8:39 pm Reply

Paleo treats make me wet my pants. We have a love/hate relationship. That may just be the Whole30 talking.

  98. Julie Duarte October 16, 2013 at 11:35 pm Reply

Listen, its pretty plain and simple. If I don’t get this book, there goes this paleo journey I’ve embarked on because I’m not a nice person without my sweets. The world is a better place when I have my sweets. The world’s future is in your hands. Choose wisely, thanks. Oh, and God bless.

I LOVE desserts ( duh who doesn’t) but they don’t always love me. I would love this cookbook to get more guilt free paleo options to cure my sweet tooth!!!

MMM mm mm. I think the fact you called it the paleo dessert bible is pretty accurate; it looks bomb. The reason why I love such naughty paleo treats is because well… my parents programmed me to get dessert every single night if I ate my vegetables at dinner as a little kid. Don’t get me wrong, I love me my veggies too (win for paleo) but I think I might have the largest set of sweet teeth out of all the 19 year old guys in the united states. Its sometimes a challenge to stay paleo because its so hard to recreate so many things I love, but with this book I wouldn’t feel like I was giving up anything at all. Thanks Taylor for the awesome giveaways this week. P.S. Your food posts make me go bananas sometimes. (Or rather pumpkins since its october. mm pumpkin ;)

I love paleo-fied naughty treats! I am type 2 diabetic, so I am always looking for wonderful recipes! I send them to my Mom all the time too, because Dad is diabetic and we are secretly trying to feed him healthy foods. He is a very stubborn, STUBBORN man, and if he knows it is good for him, he will instantly not like it! If he thinks it is naughty, of course he will gobble it right down, so we just don’t tell him LOL. Now, if we tell him after he gobbles it down, then he will make a remark like, “Yeah I knew there was something nasty tasting in there but I didn’t want to say anything.” I want to throttle him sometimes! LOL Thank you for this wonderful blog :)

First, I love your blog because of your obsession with pumpkin…i’m right there with you! I even grew a dang pumpkin patch this year so I wouldn’t get disappointed that I ran out and then have go to the store to get a can of pumpkin! Anyway, paleo eating has made me feel normal again after finding out I have A LOT of crazy food sensitivities. Can’t wait to see this book for my own eyes… :)

This cookbook looks AMAZING! I love Paleo so much, just started at the beginning of October and already feel better than before. I’m never bloated, which, until you experience that, you don’t know how awesome it is! Paleo treats are great because I really have a sweet tooth and have always loved the main components anyway- nuts, honey, maple syrup, cinnamon, eggs, and baking with fruit to sweeten things is great too. I would be so happy to win the cookbook!

Just stumbled on your blog from pinterest and I’m sure glad I did. I would love to win that recipe book because I have been wanting to eat clean and get my husband and three little boys eating healthier. A healthy version of treats showing them that food is even tastier when you take the junk out of it just might convince my husband and picky little eaters. I would love to win, but even if I don’t i am super excited to check out your blog and learn more about this healthy lifestyle of eating :)
